Add Watermark to PDF

Add a text or image watermark to a PDF: choose colour, transparency, angle, size, centred or tiled, all or some pages. Free and private.

Mark documents as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or COPY, or brand them with your logo. Choose the colour, transparency and angle, place the watermark in the centre or repeat it across the page, and apply it to all pages or only some.

The watermark is added on your own device; your PDF is never uploaded.

  3. Set transparency, angle, size and centred or tiled layout — the thumbnails show a preview.
  4. Optionally limit it to some pages, then click “Add watermark” and download.

Frequently asked questions

Can a watermark be removed?

A watermark added to a PDF can be edited out with advanced PDF editors. To make removal much harder, use “Flatten everything” in Flatten PDF afterwards, which turns pages into images.

Can I use my logo?

Yes. Choose Image and pick a PNG or JPG. PNG logos with a transparent background look best.

Which languages can I type?

Latin letters (English, French, Spanish, German…) and common symbols. Other scripts such as Hindi or Chinese are not supported in text watermarks yet — use an image watermark instead.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The watermark is added in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
