Add Page Numbers to PDF

Add page numbers to a PDF: choose the position, format (Page 1 of 10), start number and first page. Free and private, in your browser.

Number the pages of reports, theses, contracts and manuals in a few clicks. Put the numbers in any corner or centred, use a style like “Page 1 of 10”, and start numbering after a cover page.

Numbers are added on your own device — the PDF is never uploaded — and they appear upright even on rotated pages.

Frequently asked questions

How do I skip the cover page?

Set “from page” to 2. The cover gets no number and numbering starts on page 2 with your start number (for example 1).

Can I use “Page X of Y”?

Yes — choose “Page 1 of 9” as the format. The total counts the numbered pages.

Will numbers cover my text?

Numbers are placed about 1 cm from the page edge, where most documents have empty margins. Check the thumbnail preview before saving.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The numbers are added by your browser on your device.

Can I use Roman numerals?

Not yet — numbers are 1, 2, 3… for now.
